James is a skilled writer and editor, with more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, gained mainly in the asset management and investment management sectors. He has worked as a journalist for a number of leading financial media brands, including the FT Group, Financial News, Euromoney and Incisive Media. He started out as a sub-editor, in other words responsible for a magazine’s production, and then in early 2007 made the inspired (or lucky) move into full-time writing, just as the markets were about to crash. His work as a journalist has given him both a solid hands-on knowledge of the whole editorial process and a good grasp of the global financial markets.
More recently, James has worked as a content specialist for marketing departments of investment management groups, including JP Morgan Asset Management, Quilter Cheviot Investment Management, AXA Investment Managers and Invesco Perpetual. He has worked on articles, blogs, fund commentaries, brochures and other collateral needed for marketing campaigns, and managed the production of client publications.
James is bi-lingual in Italian, fairly fluent in French and has enough gasthaus German to get by. He is particularly interested in history, current affairs and international relations.
